"After serving the LGBT community for over 15 years, and working so hard for Marriage Equality in the District of Columbia, it only seems fitting that I would continue to serve my community through Marry Me in DC." -Sheila Alexander-Reid
Fact: Same-Sex Marriage became law in the District of Columbia on March 3, 2010, giving members of our LGBT community the right to legally marry.
Marry Me in DC was borne from the desire to serve our community by providing gays and lesbians a professional service that isn't always readily available to members of our community. Many Gay and Lesbian couples hit a wall in the marriage license application process because they have to know who will be officiating their ceremony from the outset. They want to get married by someone they know is sensitive to their needs and respectful of their same-sex union. For this reason, going to the church on the corner to hire an officiant often isn't a viable option.
We not only respect your same-sex union, we applaud and celebrate it! As a lesbian owned and operated business, we understand the importance of feeling "comfortable" with the person who is standing before you while you exchange vows with the love of your life. That's why we offer a free, no obligation consultation to allow you to meet your Officiant face to face, before you name us on your marriage license application.
We, Sheila Alexander-Reid and Deborah Thomas, are DC Licensed Wedding Celebrants performing non-religious, same-sex ceremonies. Both poised and professional, we take your commitment seriously, and consider it a true honor to be a participant in the joy of your wedding day.
Please contact us to reserve an Officiant for your ceremony, and be sure to let us know of any other way we may be able to make your special day a wonderful experience.
