About Marry Me in DC
Marry Me in DC began operations in May 2010, shortly after same-sex marriage became legal in the District of Columbia. Our goal was to help same-sex couples exercise their right to legal marriage in the Nation’s Capitol by providing a service that is not otherwise readily available to members of the LGBT community.
Since then, partners and co-owners Sheila Alexander-Reid and Deborah Cummings-Thomas have officiated numerous wedding ceremonies, of all types. With every client, we delight in the ability to usher them across this very important threshold in life and we welcome the opportunity to celebrate them, not just tolerate them, on their wedding day.
In addition to our Officiant’s service, we are able to file your marriage license application on your behalf, an extra convenience for couples who live out of state. We are also able to refer you to other gay or gay-friendly wedding services such as photographers, bakeries and photographers,
all in an effort to make your special day a memorable one.
We look forward to working with you.
